Stéphanie Pineau a étudié la photographie commerciale, a été l’assistante de plusieurs photographes à Montréal et a obtenu un diplôme des beaux-arts à l’Université Concordia en 2017. Elle photographiait des paysages en s’inspirant du pictorialisme en peinture et du land art durant ses études.

 

Après sa graduation, elle a travaillé comme photographe de mode et l’influence commerciale s’imprègne dans son travail photographique. De fait, avec ses natures mortes colorées et son attention méticuleuse à tous les aspects de la création de l’image, on retrouve la même forme de présentation publicitaire dans ses photographies. Parallèlement, certaines de ses photos sont narratives et donnent une impression d’irréalité. L’artiste préfère évoquer plutôt que de préciser.

Stéphanie Pineau studied in commercial photography, was an assistant for many photographers in Montréal and she got her BFA from Concordia University in 2017. Inspired by pictorialism in painting and Land Art, she took pictures of landscapes during her studies.

 

After her graduation, she worked as a fashion photographer and the commercial influence permeated in her artwork. In fact, her colourful still lifes and her meticulous attention to all aspects of the image creation, we found the same form of advertising presentation in her pictures. In the same direction, some of her photos are narrative and have a sense of being unreal. The artist tends to evoking than defining.
